Onion Knight is at the same time the best and the worst job in the game. The best as long as you are in lv99, the worst if you are under lv90. You get shitty stats until you arrive at lv90, when you start getting amazing stats, until you hit lv99 and get 99 for every stat in the game. Sadly the special equipment for Onion Knight as a really low drop rate (the highest is the armor with 4.5%, being the sword around ~1%).
